Rooftop Parties and Last Biking Adventure

On Sunday, some friends and I attempted to study in the park but instead kind of just hung out for a little until it rained. Sunday night we stayed in because people have tests but I found it hard to be motivated to study :)

On Monday I went to the beach with Sarah and two people who are visiting here. It was our last beach day and it was GORGEOUS out, as it often is here! Copenhagen is so beautiful and fun when it is nice out. It's a bit of a bummer when it rains...but we have avoided a lot of that! We spent a few hours lying on the beach, I shut my eyes and listened to music for a little, put my feet in the freezing cold water, and talked to the other girls. We also got some hotdogs and slushies to hold us over until dinner!

When I came home, Danna and I went onto my roof to study and eat dinner. We brought all of our materials out there but, naturally, there is just so much OTHER great stuff going on here! Sitting on the roof we found ourselves a little distracted, and then it was hopeless when other people started coming outside to hang out. Olgert popped his head out of his room and laughed at us because we were not even studying a little bit. Then he told us to come into his room because he and his Italian friends had cooked some authentic Spaghetti Bolognese! It was sooooo good. After a few obvious hints, a couple girls came in with a cake and candles for Marianne's birthday. It was really nice because she has a test today and can't celebrate until tonight. There were 20 people in Olgert's room and we all had cake and ice cream! Then, after I retreated back to my study area on the roof, they started singing their own self-made kareoke. How could I resist?!?! Danna and I officially gave up and joined in on the singing party. It was so much fun and it reminded me that these fun-filled, care-free nights are almost over. I got a little sad but also enjoyed the company of 20 screaming/singing people with 10 different accents and very little musical talent (sorry!).

Today, I woke up EARLY! I studied for a couple of hours and then biked with Danna all around Copenhagen. It was my last day with my bike so we took advantage! We went back to Norrebro, then to Norreport, then to Strøget street, and then eventually met up with Jenny and Laura. We went to Christiania for some last minute gift/jewelry shopping, and then I went on my journey to return my bike. I thought it would be easy because, even though it was a good 20-25 minute bike, it was all along one street mostly. That would be easy of course if I hadn't gone in the wrong direction from the start. So what was meant to be a 25 minute bike ride turned into over an hour of confusion. BUT I made it with 3 minutes to spare before the bike place closed. My first and last true biking mishap. I did get to see some beautiful parts of Copenhagen (and some not so beautiful parts) that I had never seen before!

Now that I am back I am going to finish studying for a little and then go out tonight :) This isn't like Ross...I am going out the night before a final, cool!

PS my computer basically has no memory left so I am going to wait to upload pics!
