Hello! The 4th of July was actually a really good time here in Denmark (Aka, not America).  I met up with Wes and Mark and we went to see some Castles. We ended up walking a lot that day, we think at least 5 miles if not more! We saw the Rosenborg Castle, which was a summer house for a king, and the Amalienborg Palace, which is where the Royal family actually lives! They are both SO gorgeous, the Amalienborg is right on the water facing the Opera House and is so gigantic I can't imagine how many bedrooms are in there. After the castles we walked a while to see the famous Little Mermaid Statue (in Danish, Den Lille Havrue). When we got there I actually laughed out loud at how not-exciting it is. It's pretty, but not that big of a deal!!!

The Little Mermaid! (I forced Wes to be in this)

After that we went back to their dorm (Valby) and the girls met us. The girls, obviously, went grocery shopping and prepared for a nice American BBQ! It was so much fun, we bought lots of food for not that much money and Mark and Sarah used the stove (we don't have a BBQ here...) and made soo many burgers. A bunch of people from other European countries helped us celebrate our day :) After our great American celebration, we went out to a bar that apparently EVERYone on our program had heard about. It was really fun to be around so many Americans and other nationalities on our special day - it was the only day of the summer I would say "CHEERS" instead of "SKOL." American pride...

So much food!

Thanks Dad! (Mark)

Since I don't know how to make burgers I was the "cheese-er"

Yesterday I had my group presentation so I spent the whole morning preparing/not doing too much with my group members. It was fun and I'm glad it's over - can't believe I already had to make a presentation!

After class, I met up with Jenny and we went shopping for some bread, cheese, hummus and wine. We met up with Laura and Taryn and had a really fun picnic in the park. It was so nice out and we felt so European/fancy :)

Beautiful evening (yes, it stays light out all night!) in the Park
