Quick Stop in Norway...

This weekend I took a cruise to Oslo, Norway! It was my first and probably last cruise ever (sorry Dad!).  It was really fun to get on the ship, explore all the floors, bars, pools and casino, and be in the same place as all of my friends. We hung out for a while in a bar and casually sipped on some fancy cocktails.  Then we had a delicious three-course meal in the nice restaurant on board. After dinner we got ready to party at the club on board and learned the hard way that our type of music didn't start until 1:30 AM! We walked into the club and saw a TV that showed the dance floor. We were thinking about how it was all old people dancing to oldies music when all of a sudden our crazy friend Sarah popped on the screen "shagging (A TYPE OF SOUTHERN DANCE)" with her friend. We all laughed because it was just her and all these adults. (Shout out to Sarah who is probably reading this). After wandering the boat for a while, it was finally time to dance, and oh did we dance. We danced until 3am when we sat on the roof for a little outside and then went to sleep.

 Leaving Denmark...

TINY tiny rooms!!!

Look who we found

Wes gone wild

We woke up to the sound of a man over a loud speaker saying so many Danish words that I could never understand. After waiting for the English translation, it appeared that we had arrived in Norway after a lot of swaying and shifting on the shaky boat.  Funny story, we were in Norway for about 5 hours. Possibly even less. We had a walking tour that was actually really nice and pretty interesting. We saw a castle and a holocaust memorial made of chairs. Then, with our free time, a few of us went to a really good burger place (typical Americans) and feasted. We were so dizzy and sick from the boat that we went back early and slept.

 Vikings and Troll friends

17 Hour trip to Norway and we ate American food!

After a very productive nap, we had a really yummy buffet where, per usual, I took about 5 times as much as I could ever eat. I took one of every dessert and it was enough for the whole table. That night we went back to the club and danced until there was almost no one left there! Sarah and I tore up the dance floor :) When we woke up, we were back HOME in Denmark! I spent the day sleeping and (wait for it...) doing work!!!! I know, there has been little to no mention of work in this blog... the good life... but I do have a presentation that I have to pass!

 Learning how to "shag"

 Seriously in character!

A few of my friends live in a dorm that is pretty far away, so it was especially fun to be in the same place for the whole time on the cruise.  It also allowed me to get closer with some of them and their friends, like two gorgeous, FASHIONABLE, fun German girls named Elena and Ana. (Elena must have said she loves to shop in NY 10 times...how special am I?)

Tonight Laura and I ventured into our neighborhood to find a good place to eat. We found something so delicious I must go back. Plus, they have bagels!! My sandwich had cream cheese on it - my kind of restaurant.

Ordering at the Green Kitchen yummm

We (Laura and I) also booked flights and hostels in Amsterdam!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY AMERICA!!!!! So weird that I am not in the USA for this holiday! Fortunately, I will be celebrating anyway with my American friends.  I <3 USA.  Goodnight!

xo,
JOJ
